|  Nafplion impresses its visitors with grand, medieval 
architecture erected by the Venetians during the 15th century, a scenic 
harbor, a picturesque center to explore on foot, and pebble beaches.   In Nafplion, spend a delightful time strolling along the waterfront 
and exploring around the main square and the narrow streets of the Old Town, 
lined with a mix of Venetian, Turkish, Frankish, and Byzantine buildings. 
Take time out to relax at one of the open-air restaurffffffffffffffants and enjoy a local 
snack or light lunch of seafood specialties.Pier Information. Guests will be taken ashore via the ship's 
tenders. The landing site is located near the town center. Taxis are 
generally available on the pier.Shopping. 
Amalias Street, Constitution Square, and the waterfront area all house 
small shops. Look for ceramics and traditional handicrafts. Greece has 
strict laws regarding the export of antiques. Many shops close from 2 to

Other Sights  Epidaurus, 
famous as an ancient healing center and for its well-preserved theater 
built during the 3rd century B.C.  Mycenae, known as 
the fabulous stronghold of the Achaean kings of 13th century B.C. 
  The Corinth Canal 
separates the Peloponnese from the mainland.  Platia Sintagmator. The city’s main square is fronted by a former 
mosqu that now houses the Greek Parliament. St. Spyridon Church. 
Kapodistrias, the first president of Greece, was assassinated here in 
November 1831.  Folk Museum. See displays of beautiful costumes and household 
utensils. There is a good handicraft shop on the second floor. Fortifications. The entrance to the Akronafplia Citadel has a gate 
built of Roman bricks, a Byzantine gatehouse with fine frescoes dating 
from 1291, and Venetian bastions. The citadel has been converted into a 
luxury hotel.  Bourtzi. Lying just offshore is this small, fortified island, once
