town is unique for its marble-paved squares, cobbled streets, tall houses, 
churches, palaces, fountains and museums, all cut from the same 
light-colored stone.   For a fantastic panorama of the city, take a cable car ride to the summit

The entrance is from the Pile Gate, and once inside the city walls the Old Town has to be explored on foot.
