Amalfi is today one of the most popular resorts and stopovers along the famed Amalfi Drive between Salerno and Sorrento. Shops are located across from the waterfront and around the main square, Piazza del Duomo. Many shops close between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The local currency is the Euro. CuisinePizza and pasta dishes are always a good choice. Other favorites include fresh seafood and scaloppini. Good local wines will complement your meal nicely. You may want to try the terrace restaurffffffffffffffant at the Santa Caterina Hotel for lunch.
